Fun Times

This wonderful man took me out for dinner and a movie on Friday night.
Saturday we spent the afternoon having a picnic and just relaxing with the kids in Hastings by the river. He is wonderful and made my weekend wonderful.

Every time I tell Peyton to "be nice" she gives him a kiss and a hug.
Every time he cries, she does the same.

Suck on your fingers DJ, here they are.

Here, try mine, there is some "cocolate" on them (chocolate).

Want to get your 2 year old to leave you alone for 15 minutes, try this.
I got more done in this 15 minutes than I did all day, I swear!

The last three weeks have been very challenging for me at times. My mother-in-law made a comment yesterday, something like "A couple of weeks ago you were protecting her from getting hurt, she is only two" as I am explaining that I feel like I am constantly telling Peyton not to touch, be gentle, be nice, stop it, leave him alone, I will spank you, naughty and NO.

I never thought I would feel so bad for Peyton, I feel like we took "her" world away from her and gave part of it to her brother.

Peyton is 98% of the time fantastic around DJ, it is the 2% of tired, wound up Peyton that makes things really difficult. The poor guy will toughen up real quick, that is for sure.

Peyton turns 2 on Sunday! Two years old already! Of course, we are pulling this weekend, so we are having her Birthday party on Labor Day, Monday the 7th. Those of you that are around, stop out, we will be BBQ'ing around 1 pm'ish to celebrate.

We bought her this picnic table for her Birthday. It folds flat so we can take it to the pull's.
She ate supper at it last night. She says "I like it".
Wearing Grandpa's gloves on her feet at the pull in Pepin, WI. The pull rained out, we got 2nd in the light class and the heavy class was cancelled.
Saturday, Cam left with his Dad for a little while, Peyton was just coming out of the bedroom as he was walking by the window, leaving. "Daddy Go"? "Pullin' with Daddy", "Pullin with Daddy". She ran to her dresser and got out those same red shorts and pulling shirt you see in the picture. Put the shorts on over the ones she already had on and said "Pullin' with Daddy!". I picked her up and explained that he didn't leave to go pulling and he would be back in a couple hours. She looked me in the eye and said "I want my Daddy" clear as day. Hurt my feelings, a little.

Birth announcements for DJ???? I will get to them, I suppose.

Saturday we pull in Arkansaw, WI and then hopefully we can make it to Cumberland for a Hockey Assoc. fund raising pull too. It will be a hectic day.
