Fun Times

This wonderful man took me out for dinner and a movie on Friday night.
Saturday we spent the afternoon having a picnic and just relaxing with the kids in Hastings by the river. He is wonderful and made my weekend wonderful.

Every time I tell Peyton to "be nice" she gives him a kiss and a hug.
Every time he cries, she does the same.

Suck on your fingers DJ, here they are.

Here, try mine, there is some "cocolate" on them (chocolate).

Want to get your 2 year old to leave you alone for 15 minutes, try this.
I got more done in this 15 minutes than I did all day, I swear!

The last three weeks have been very challenging for me at times. My mother-in-law made a comment yesterday, something like "A couple of weeks ago you were protecting her from getting hurt, she is only two" as I am explaining that I feel like I am constantly telling Peyton not to touch, be gentle, be nice, stop it, leave him alone, I will spank you, naughty and NO.

I never thought I would feel so bad for Peyton, I feel like we took "her" world away from her and gave part of it to her brother.

Peyton is 98% of the time fantastic around DJ, it is the 2% of tired, wound up Peyton that makes things really difficult. The poor guy will toughen up real quick, that is for sure.

Peyton turns 2 on Sunday! Two years old already! Of course, we are pulling this weekend, so we are having her Birthday party on Labor Day, Monday the 7th. Those of you that are around, stop out, we will be BBQ'ing around 1 pm'ish to celebrate.

We bought her this picnic table for her Birthday. It folds flat so we can take it to the pull's.
She ate supper at it last night. She says "I like it".
Wearing Grandpa's gloves on her feet at the pull in Pepin, WI. The pull rained out, we got 2nd in the light class and the heavy class was cancelled.
Saturday, Cam left with his Dad for a little while, Peyton was just coming out of the bedroom as he was walking by the window, leaving. "Daddy Go"? "Pullin' with Daddy", "Pullin with Daddy". She ran to her dresser and got out those same red shorts and pulling shirt you see in the picture. Put the shorts on over the ones she already had on and said "Pullin' with Daddy!". I picked her up and explained that he didn't leave to go pulling and he would be back in a couple hours. She looked me in the eye and said "I want my Daddy" clear as day. Hurt my feelings, a little.

Birth announcements for DJ???? I will get to them, I suppose.

Saturday we pull in Arkansaw, WI and then hopefully we can make it to Cumberland for a Hockey Assoc. fund raising pull too. It will be a hectic day.

And Then There Was Two

So, Tuesday morning the 4th of August I woke up at about 5 am with tightening and then about 30 minutes later, the same feeling. I laid in bed till 6 am thinking that is was just contractions and it is still 2 weeks till my due date and then 30 minutes later, the same feeling and I started to argue with myself. You know, Peyton came really fast and thinking to myself that the doctor DID say to come in immediately with ANY signs of labor. So, I convinced myself to take a shower and get ready for work and then, the same feeling again, hmmm, this must be real. So I got out of the shower and woke Cam up. I told Cam "I think you might want to get up" He said, "What the hell for" and I said, "I think we need to go to the hospital", boom, he was up! We got to the hospital and I was dialated to a 2 and everyone was arguing whether my water was slowly leaking or if it completely broke or not at all. At about 12:00 my water broke, leaking or not, it broke the rest of the way. Cam Laughed at me! He laughed. Good thing we have a sense of humor. Forty minutes later Daniel Joseph was born, 8 lbs 0 oz. 20.5" long. So I should complain about the nurse who knew what she was doing. She put the IV in for pain meds and then said, I need to check something in your file before we administer and then she said we better check you too. I was completely dialated!! Too late!! Too friggen late for pain meds again!! I was mad. I looked at Cam and said, crying, "They did it again!" So baby #2 arrived with no pain meds just like his sister.

Peyton LOVES D.J. She kisses him and hugs him at least 50 times a day. Every time he cries, she has to kiss and hug him. It is too cute. I gave him a bath the other day and he screamed. She pushed me away and said "Teyton help brodder" (Peyton help brother) it was so cute.

We had his 1 week checkup yesterday. He now weighs 7 lbs 13 oz and is still 20.5" long. We have to go back next week just to be sure he is gaining some weight. They tested him for Jaundice too, he is a just slightly yellow in the face. His Bilirubin was 10.2 which I guess is just a touch high, so no worries. We are doing nothing about it at this point, just keeping an eye on him.

Last weekend we pulled in Hammond, WI. DJ attended his first pull at 5 days old, just like Peyton did. Cam got a 2nd and 3rd, he pretty much has the Championship won. We have one more points pull but it doesn't look like there is a chance anyone will catch him.
This weekend there is a pull Friday in Zumbrota, MN and then in Pepin, WI on Saturday.

I feel like there is a ton more to post but I will have to catch up little by little.

Oh!! Congrats to Kelly and Dean! Kahlen Anah was born Tuesday the 11th at 1:01 pm. 7 lbs 9 oz, a20.5 inches long. DJ and Kahlan are exactly one week apart, Peyton and Jo are exactly 3 months apart. Kind of fun how things work out.

You know, this may be a first in a long time. I have no pictures to post. I know, stop the presses! I could find some, if anyone is dying to see a picture.
Saturday Cam built Peyton a sandbox. Oh she loves it. It is huge and you would think I could have took a picture or two of him building it, but he preferred the camera stay away. So I listened. I took Peyton to Crazy Daze in Cannon Falls, wow, there wasn't much there. The town is slowly shrinking.
We didn't pull this weekend. We pretty much spent the weekend together, just the 3 of us. It was pretty fun. I can't believe how much Peyton is talking. Every time something new comes out of her mouth I can't help but wonder, where did that come from and how on earth did she make that into a sentence. It all comes together like magic.
Cam had a great weekend. That Red Squirrel that has been haunting him for, oh 2 years now, is GONE, yes gone! He got him, with the assistance of Petie. Petie caught him. Cam finished him. And then on Sunday, he got another one! Two in one weekend!
Sunday we relaxed most of the day, we deep fried a turkey and Gina & Bryce came over to help eat it. Just a nice relaxing day.
As for me and baby, nothing happened yet. I did, however, get my bag packed for the hospital. So I am ready, I guess. By this time in my pregnancy with Peyton, she was born. So the last couple of days have been a little nerve racking. I am experiencing some things that I didn't with Peyton. All are normal, I just skipped a lot of it with Peyton. I have a doctors appointment Wednesday morning. We will see what they say.

This weekend there are 3 pulls. Not sure which we are going to.
Friday - Neillsville, WI (I do NOT care for that town)
Saturday - Almena, WI (not sure, we will see)
Sunday - Hammond, WI (Points pull, we will be there)
