Happy Thanksgiving to All

Peyton and Grandpa Doc, just hangin' out.

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Now the kick off for Christmas has begun! Oh yes, I admit, I did a little shopping on Black Friday, however, Friday was Black for many of us without the kick off of the shopping season......oops I mean Christmas Season. Most of my shopping was for the families that Cam & I sponsor for Christmas, we are helping out 2 families that are less fortunate this season.

So Wednesday while the guys were getting Jake's trucks ready to go, they had them all lined up outside the shop and a Bald Eagle flew over head. He was there! Tuesday night Cam and I were driving home, in seperate vehicles, from dinner at Oscars and we both seen the same falling star. He was there! The night of the wake a few things happened at the church as well, all of us who know what I am talking about would agree, he WAS there! He will be with all of us, forever.

Now I would just like to mention that we waited in line at the wake for 2 hours! Some of the people behind us said they waited 3 hours. People were there to show thier respects to the entire family from every side of the United States. How impressive is that. One person touched so many lives and he was only 27! Like Yaggy said during the service, you would have swore the Stones were in town.

I get shivers thinking about "he was there"... isn't it amazing how they tell us they are still here and how they will watch over.. so sad, yet it brings just a little peace knowing he's in a good place. Still not fair, but those little signs mean a lot.

What families do you sponsor? that's really awesome-- is it through a church or anything or just some people you know? I'd be interested in helping out if there is a need-- let me know some details if you don't mind.

Cam & I do it through Social Services and Goodhue County Christmas project. In November we go down and pick out families from Cannon Falls that are in need. We give toys, food and clothing. We get different families every year. It is a lot of fun, I really enjoy doing it. This year I am delivering to the families on Sunday the 7th, so all I have left to do is go grocery shopping for them. I misplaced your email, if you want more info, email me eberg@bestwayinc.com I would love to have more people join in on the fun and we could help out more families! My Deloitte Co-Workers used to join me but since I have parted ways from Deloitte, I Cam and I are on our own this year.
