Recitals, Christmas Programs and Stitches

Daddy and Brother waiting patiently for Peyton's recital to begin.
There is something about my little boy proudly wearing his Daddy's hat that makes me smile.
Okay, sideways, but what isn't in this family?? Right?!?!
This is her pose she gave before the recital.
And........stiff as a rock. No movement at all.
Unless you count putting her fingers into her mouth.....she did manage to do that.
 Still stiff....nothing....no reaction....nothing.
Now this leads up to the question......
Should I keep her in dance? She likes it, she says, but she never participates.
I have to admit, this is the only picture I have of Peyton with Santa. Nice shot!
Her backside, his outsides, whatever works, I guess.
Peyton had her Christmas Party at Preschool. I spent the day with her. Don't worry, when it came time to sing and perform, she did nothing, so you didn't miss much.
 Decorating cookies at the Party.
 Making her wreath
 Putting puzzles together
Spelling her name and counting the dots on the dice
Oh, yeah, by the way.......
My son thinks he can fly!
He told me "I was flying Momma!" "Got hurt really bad, yeah, bad!"
His first two stitches. I am sure they will not be the last.
Yes, for the first time ever, I almost passed out in the room while they were doing stitches.
Peyton had to take care of me.
It got to the point of not being able to see, I could only hear the voices.
She talked to me and rubbed my head while I held DJ's hands in comfort.
Poor guy had no idea that Mom was in worse shape than he was.
I couldn't see!

Words to live by:
Live each day in the moment
Be sure the moment includes everyone you love
Make decisions for you and your family, not just yourself.

This is how memories are made

We took the kids up to Phalen Park to check out the lights. It is such a cool display.
The kids were so excited to see them this year compared to last year.

This one was Peyton's favorite. The prince is putting the red slipper on the princess and Tinkerbell flies through the air from one castle to the next.

And.....we have snow!!
Of course Cam had to try it out too!

Tyler took DJ down for his first time sledding.

DJ loved it!

He went down himself the rest of the time.

He yelled "Weeeeeeee Weeeeeee" the whole way down the hill, every time.

Kind of like that commercial with that pig in the backseat hanging his head out the window saying "Weeeee Weeee Weeee".

Cam took Peyton down for her first trip, with the help of Tyler for some extra speed.

This is the first year that Peyton liked sledding.

All the years past she cried and wanted to go in the house.

She was laughing so hard.

The almighty Berg Christmas tree selection.

Peyton picked hers out!

Just her size.

We will be back for him in a few more years. He needs to grow some more.

And......the selection has been made.

And.......it is down for the count.

Check out those muscles!

Good job guys!

DJ had to show his muscles a little more.

And this is how memories are made!

Pretty cool sequence huh?

I love my camera.

Thanks Tom for the tickets to the game.

Even though they lost, it was fun.

My first Vikings game.

My apologies, in advance for the disorganization of these pictures. You would be best to start at the bottom of this post and work your way up. The pictures would be in the appropriate order then.

Just chillin' at the Zoo during the Members Only Trick or Treat event.

Getting the loot from the different stations at the Zoo. The kids make a haul at the Zoo every year. It isn't about making a haul, I know, but it is nice because they get a ton of stuff, not just candy and they are tired out from trick or treating by the time we are done at the Zoo.

Peyton gives her standard Princess wave goodbye before heading out for the evening.

DJ is ready to go too.

I let the kids pick their costumes this year.

Peyton wanted to be a Princess.

I bought the costume.

Then she seen this cheerleader costume and had to have it.

Good thing it was only $5 bucks or we would have had an upset Princess on our hands.

DJ knew he wanted to be a puppy before I could even finish asking him. So easy to please.

Cleaning out the pumpkins.

DJ wasn't too sure about getting that messy and he never really did get into the whole slimy mess part of it. I had to keep a wash cloth on hand for him to wipe himself off as often as possible.

Peyton, on the other hand..........

The messier the better......

Dig right in......

Decorating Monster Pizza Cookies that Peyton won at the Randolph Halloween Party.

The pictures says it all.

DJ gave his best face for the camera too.

Wow! Check out the Northern Lights!

I have never seen them this bright before!

And all the movement.

Every time you looked up they were different.

What a cool site to see!

Painting pumpkins helped to pass the time while the kids were patiently waiting to dig into the real deal.

I think these pumpkins were painted and washed and painted 20 times in the last 3 weeks.

What a beautiful basket and flower arrangement.

My last day at Bestway was October 21st and these were two of the gifts that Deb made for me.

The girl has talent!

I joked with her that I was going to take pictures and try to sell her talent!

So.....anyone interested in purchasing a basket or flower arrangement?

She can customize however you would like!

One of my many favorite child hood memories was going to Rochester to feed the geese.

Some would joke that this was a favorite or even a memory at all.

It isn't about walking in the poop or getting bit.

It is about being there with Mom & Dad and sharing the moment of the...

Poop.....or uh the.....Poop.

I love it!

Ok. So we didn't realize we were punishing our child by giving her a 6 letter name.

Didn't think about that at all.

Till.....she had to learn to write it!

Look!

No help at all.

She wrote it out on the cement for the first time!

First time I have seen her write it!

I can't keep the cement or the chalk lines, so I captured the moment with the camera.

Today, she is a pro at writing her name.

DJ, you lucky dog! You only have 2 letters to learn.....Unless we go for Daniel?!?!

Till next time!

Christmas is 38 days away!

I am going to get my Adopt-A-Family this weekend.

I am thinking 2 families a couple kids each family.

I love helping other families in need during the season.

Happy Fall Days

Soaking up every moment.......

I know the days are important.....

You can never get them back.....

All we are left with are photos to help us remember.

Peyton picked a Pink Hello Kitty for her face painting.

You can see DJ's hands on her knees. He was holding her to be sure she was okay.

She was too chicken at first. DJ had to get his face painted first.

Again.....soak up the moment.

DJ's first real experience in a corn pool.

Diaper and all were full of corn.

DJ picked a pumpkin for his face painting.

Milking the cow.

DJ kept looking up at the cow becuase he had the thingy aiming at his face...everytime he pulled he got a face full of water.

Checking out the baby calf.....
See the desire on his face.....
I just wish I could get in there to be with that calf.

Peyton enjoyed feeding the goats.
DJ loved it up to about a distance of 12 inches. He wouldn't get any closer.

Peyton has a good memory.

Last year she picked a cob of corn to take home to Cam.

This year she brought DJ into the corn with her to pick out that special ear for Daddy.

Just hanging out for the day at Sever's Corn Maze. We spent the entire day together.

We have never actually walked the maze, I must confess, we have too much fun doing the other stuff that we forget about the Maze.

Peyton made two trips to to the corn pool.

Once upon arrival

And a goodbye dip before departure.

Who doesn't love the Corn Pool at Sever's Corn Maze?

It was so cute, DJ would jump like three times before actually pushing off when he jumped to get into the pool of corn. We spent hours in this pool.

So much for getting the Halloween pictures in this post. I guess you will have something to look forward to!

Till next time!

Christmas is only 42 days away!
