It is 2022!

 It is 2022!

Walking by my 14 year old daughter on her Chromebook as she is glancing through old pictures on this wonderful blog I started, it triggered so many things for me. Memories. Thoughts. Smiles. Sadness. Laughter. But overall I questioned myself, why did I let this go? Why did I let so many outside factors control what I put into words? Actually, one factor, why? Truth is, I don't know why.

I am thankful it is still here and I am thankful I can continue to write.

Ten amazing, wonderful, incredible years have gone by, there is a LOT to catch up on.

Life is short. Be kind. Do not sweat the small stuff and do not put too much effort into those that do not give the effort back. Advice that I can give from the last 10 years of absence from writing here. I know, every post would have had that lesson.

I picked up a picture of myself out of a dumpster recently. The picture was in the dumpster, not me. But, I might as well have been. It stopped me, in my tracks. Literally. My heart sank. I realized everything I had set aside over the years to be sure priorities were in proper order, were not in the order they probably should have been. Frankly, I didn't pick up the picture, my child handed it to me wondering if I would want it. So many emotions rolled into a ball, so many lessons for myself.

You see, all through our lives we invest time. Time is something that is priceless. Be sure you are putting your time where you are happiest, fulfilled and feel the greatest you can feel. Of course there will be good days and bad days, but invest in time for yourself and invest in time with those that share the greatness with you. Seems selfish right? It isn't. You are helping each other. Trust me! Time is something you can't get back, ever. Be sure your spending it on the right things, people and places.

28 Years

Cam has been the love of my life for 28 years, he still takes my breath away when I see him, watch him work, think of him. I pray you all invest time in a love like this.

This is happiness, this is greatness.

Here is what 10 years has done to those babies you see in the previous posts! Boy have I got some catching up to do with you!

Happy Halloween

No explanation needed!

Friday, November 9, 2012

Oh....My Dear.....I have fallen behind, again!

The note reads:

I was just looking at your blog March 23, 2011, Peyton is trying to hola hoop,  Your comment was something about her hips, so I played it like 10 times, and laughed harder each time.

You really need to update your blog, I am kinda scared to tell you that, as I read in one blog about someone (me) bugging to to update as I was bored, and you then listed your day from hell.  Still funny.

Thanks for the laughs and memories.

Lois
So, I am once again reminded that I need to update the blog! And what if I don't????
Well, I suppose I will look back another year from now and say.......
"What on earth happened from August 24, 2012 till November 8, 2012!"
"How could I miss blogging the first day of school! Home Coming! Halloween! First Day of Girl Scouts! And on and on!"

Well don't you fear, I have the photos, I am just lacking the time!

A tease.......
 Peyton's first day of Kindergarten
Ah, yes, she is in Kindergarten!
Waiting for the bus.......
A cool pose with the Harley Davidson Sign
 And she is off!
 No kidding!
They didn't have backdrops like this when I was in school!
Sheesh, they only did head shots, look at this! You can see her hand and her whole profile!
Nice picture baby girl! We are very proud of the pride in her smile and eyes!
 DJ's first day of Preschool.
Oh, yeah, he is old enough for Preschool and he LOVES it!
This is the proof! This is in the lunch room at Randolph!
Look at this, he even has a classroom, classmates and a teacher!
Whew!

I had a very touching experience today:
It started about a month ago.
We are adding a sales office for our Sales Director at work.
Construction guy finally shows up, yesterday.
No worries, he was only about 2 weeks late.
No big deal, it is just an office and we are just trying to work around the tore up space.
Yesterday, I bring in a HVAC guy to quote some HVAC work.
HVAC stands for Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning for those of you that are wondering.
So I get my regular HVAC Maintenance guy to quote.
My construction guy says: "Oh hey, I was going to have my guy quote it too, you might as well get a comparison"
Sure, let's do that.
He says "XX is a really good guy, he will probably give us a good price"
Note, I am using XX to create suspense.
Well, construction guys calls XX and tells him there is someone special up here that would love to see you. I am in complete awe of the fact that construction guy knows XX, there are many other HVAC people far closer to the cities than XX is.
XX shows up today to give a quote.
I greet XX and he asks for Bobby (my boss).
I asked him "How have you been?"
I get a cheap response of "Good, is Bobby here"
I say "You don't recognize me do you?"
"Nope"
"It's me, Erica."
"Oh My Goodness" he says and I give him a big hug!
We catch up on a few things and have some good conversation.
This person has touched my life and nobody knew how much till today, when I finally decided to share this Angel with everyone.
I show him around, he preps a quote. He leaves, without another word.

My phone rings this afternoon.......
It is XX.
He is in tears and explains how I am a wonderful person and how it was a true pleasure to see me today. He then proceeds to tell me how he woke up this morning and said a prayer:
"Dear God, please grant me the strength to get through today"
Thirteen years ago today, the very minute I gave him the hug, his son took his own life.
I was his Angel for today.
I had no idea. I knew of the loss, but not the timing.
And I hugged him out of shear love and compassion, no reason other than it just felt like the right thing to do. Never hugged him before in my life, but his kindness and spirit have really touched me in ways I can't explain, so I had to hug him.
Over the past few years I have come to know him and have some pretty nice conversations about life, God, and how it is too short to take it for granted.
Today, I helped give him the strength to get through the day.
Today, he helped give me the strength to believe in God and that it is all in God's hands.
Erling, you have made me a better person.
Our random conversation's over the years have been very fulfilling and touching.
You give me the strength!
You are my Angel, here on Earth.
Erling, you are in my prayers today and I promise to keep in touch as we have in the past.

Dear Lois:
I believe in God.
I believe he puts everything in front of us for a reason.
He gives us challenges that we may find unfair, he also grants us the strength to get through it and help others through it too.
We may question his reasoning at times, we need to trust he knows what he is doing.
We will continue to love those that surround us and pray for those that worry us.
We will all get through it and then be granted another challenge.
Being strong is what he made US!
Lois, you show me strength daily, and the feather on your shoulder is your Angel!
I love you.
Erica

He touched me today.

A little more summer fun

In No Particular Order ~ Fun Was Had by All!

Peyton and her personality.
Showing off the outfit Cam picked out for her in Arizona and showing off my new kickers.
Showing off Daddy's new kickers
Ummm.....does the cactus have the upper hand in this one?
They say they average 70 years old before they start to branch out.
How old do you think this one is?
This one had a cool mustache!
Do you see it?
Poke It.
Pick It?
 Umm.....
The plate on this 65 Mustang says "DJ'S PONY"
Blurry going down the highway at 80 mph in the dark.
The views were spectacular!
 The Goldfield Gold Mine Town

The Mystery Shack! All illusions, but pretty fun!
The water is flowing up hill!?!?
 Lots of iron!

This right here is the porta potty that was brought down into the gold mine daily for the guys to do their duty. One guy had the job of pulling the crapper into and out of the mine daily, they had to clean it out too! Yuck!

A shaft for sending the miners into the ground.

We even found Happy Valley.
There was a Princess Ave too!

The wildlife was a little different from mosquito's and worms.
This is how we roll!
Peyton parked her bike and hung up her helmet the other day.
Huh, she found a different helmet!
Peace Baby!

Showing off the new treasures from "Caffy at the office".
Cathy spoils them!
